A Balzers  boxcoater is a good choice if multilayer coating are produced. This demands lots of attention to  get correct thickness all over the surface (tooling).

Tomas Näslund is preparing and running the Box coater for manufacturing of  complete
optical filters. Clean surfaces and enviroment  is critical. The electron gun is prepared with
dielectrical material and, the glass is placed in special stainless steel holders.
