This document describes the construction of a q-switched  ruby laser.  It was constructed in summer 1988. It was used  for pulsed holography. With the ruby laser it was possible to take holograms on moving objects such as human faces organic stuff. However the power was limited to very small scale such as 13x10cm due to lack of amplifier.
