Thickness distribution software
This is a prototype program wich numerically analyze the
thickness distribution of thin films in a vacuum coating
system.
The software take in account the cos^n behaviour from the
evaporation source. Any form of planetary setup is numerically
solved and a prediction is made of the thickness distribution.
This is a good tool prior construction of a coating system. It
also deals with thickness tooling factor from a witness
plate. Next phase of the development is to implement spherical
substrates holders. Also a ion beam distribution will be implemented,
(IBAD) process.
To improve the thickness uniformity in a vacuum coating process, shadow
masks are often inserted between the source and the substrate. This
software can help predict the geometry of the shadow masks.
